The Readings

There is a reading here for every week of the year: a passage from the Gospels, a psalm, a word about it, and a question meant for a table. This room is for what the week's reading did to you.

Not what it means. Plenty of people will tell you what a passage means, and some of them are right. The other thing is what we almost never hear: that you read the one about the man who went away sad and could not shake it for three days, or that the psalm said the thing you had not been able to say all week, or that you read it twice, got nothing at all, and would like to say so out loud.

Say so out loud. That is a letter.

Disagreement belongs here too. If the word for the week is wrong, write and say it is wrong. We would rather be corrected in the open than agreed with out of politeness, and a plain objection is worth more to this site than ten letters telling us we have it right.

Name the reading when you write, so the rest of us know which one you mean.
