Something is wrong

If a letter in one of the rooms should not be there, this is how you tell us.

There is no address on this site to write to, and that is deliberate rather than unfriendly. An address has to be held, watched, and forwarded, and in the end it leaks. We would rather hold nothing about anybody, ourselves included. So there is a form instead, and it goes to the same private place the letters go.

Only the people who read the letters ever see what you send. It is never published, never rendered into a page, and never answered in public. Do not wait for a reply: there is nowhere for one to go, and nothing was collected to send it to. That is the cost of holding nothing, and we think it is worth paying.

Say which letter you mean, and say plainly what is wrong with it. Use this if a letter needs correcting or taking down, if you want something of your own removed, or if you think a letter in a room is your writing and should not be there.

What you send is a reason to look. It is not a verdict, and saying that a letter breaks a rule does not make it so; we go and read the letter, and weigh it the way we weigh everything else here. Sometimes that means the letter stays. You will not hear either way, which we know is unsatisfying, and it is still better than an address that has to be defended forever.

The form

Letters are read before they are printed. Nothing appears here until a person has read it, and replies come the way letters come: in days, not minutes.

One plain line saying it arrived, and then a person reads it. Days, not minutes, like everything else in this house.
